This has been a very exciting week, I promise I managed not to wee with excitement after the great write up about the new Lego club venture at Levy (Levenshulme) Market written by the fab Christine.
(http://www.levymarket.com/build-it-lego-club-comes-to-levy-market/) Christine is expecting a few puddles! I cannot wait for the first club on Saturday 4th March. The club will then run on the 1st and last Saturday of every month.
Last Saturday we had our largest ever number of Lego clubbers at Burnage Library, 62 in total with over 35 through the door in the first 10 minutes. It was a bit crazy but brilliant at the same time. It is great to see so many different people from the local community come together with a love of building. If you are thinking of setting up your own Lego club in your local area and need some tips I will be also blogging about that later.
So on to future plans....... Lego therapy training is top of my list and the long-term aim will be to provide Lego therapy for children with social developmental delay and other social issues in my local area. I will be using the funds from future Lego Parties and Lego clubs to hopefully attend the next course in Manchester in June. I am really looking forward to getting started. My other project will be to start an adult Lego club too, one where the grown-ups can build with a few drinks, preferably of the acholic nature and a few snacks to keep us building.. If you are interested get in touch via the contact form. I am thinkg about venues, dates etc and any suggestions would be most welcome.
